Hailing from Rotterdam, Broederliefde is a Dutch hip-hop group best known for double-platinum singles like "Nu sta je hier," "Ik was al binnen," and "Mi no lob." Rappers Emerson Akachar (also known as "Emms"), Jerzy Rocha Livramento (also known as "Jerr"), Javiensley Dams (also known as "Sjaf"), Edson Cesar (also known as "Edson") and Melvin Silberie (also known as "Mella") launched the project in 2013, choosing the name "Broederliefde" as the Dutch translation of "brotherly love." Gevoelig Feestje, the group's 2014 debut, reached number 3 on the Dutch Album Top 100. It was followed by the Hard Work Pays Off, which featured the platinum-selling Top 40 single "Alaka." Hard Work Pays Off 2 followed in 2016, reached Number 1 on the Dutch charts, and became the group's first platinum album in the Netherlands, thanks in part to the Top 20 single "Ik was al binnen" and the number 4 hit "Jungle." The group's next five albums all went gold, with 2018's We Have To Go Through 2 and 2021's Medal both returning Broederliefde to Number 1. The group also earned a number 2 single with "Het is een feit," which featured the Dutch rapper Emms, and a Number 1 hit with "Hoe Je Bent," which featured Frenna. As 2022 drew to a close, Broederliefde released its eighth studio album, Beach on the Maas, which earned another number 2 hit with "Stunten."
