Brazilian funk and R&B singer Claucirlei Jovencio de Souza, aka Buchecha, was born in Sao Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro in 1975. He started out his career with his childhood friend Claudinho, who sadly died in a car accident at the age of 26. The pair released their debut album together, the eponymous 'Claudinho & Buchecha' in 1996. It was a great commercial success, hitting triple platinum sales in their native Brazil. They went on to release another five albums together until Claudinho's death in 2002. Buchecha then went on to form a solo career, releasing 'MC Buchecha' in 2003 and a string of albums since, including his most recent work, 'Funk Pop', in 2015. In 2013, he collaborated with the well-known American rapper Flo Rida on the track 'Baile em Miami'. His singles in recent years include 'Paguei pra Ver' with MC Kekel; 'Evolvente' with PK; 'Aos que se foram' with Chris MC and Jarlan Akill and 'Eu sei antar' with André Werneck and Danny.
