The contemporary Christian country music trio Cain was formed in 2012 in Hartselle, Alabama. The band's three members -- siblings Taylor, Madison, and Logan Cain -- were raised by a pastor father and home-schooled until their high school years. Their interest in music began when they were children, however. Taylor even wrote a Christmas song at the age of four, with her two siblings adding vocal harmonies. Later, Taylor, Madison, and Logan Cain all attended Troy University in Alabama. After winning a singing contest in 2012, they opened for singer/songwriter Dave Barnes, dropped out of school, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Cain released an independent EP in 2015, then signed a recording contract with the Provident Label Group and issued a second self-titled EP in 2020. The full-length album Rise Up followed in 2021 and featured a chart-topping hit with the single “Rise Up (Lazarus),” which hit Number 1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay Chart. “Yes He Can” also reached Number 1, while “The Commission” and "I'm So Blessed" charted within the Top 10. Another EP, Wonderful, was released that same year, the Cain finished 2021 by earning a nomination for "New Artist of the Year" at the GMA Dove Awards. Another EP, Honest Offering, followed in 2023. Before 2023 came to a close, Cain cracked the Christian Top 20 with "Any More" and "Grown-Up Christmas List."
