Born Linda McCartha Monica Sandy-Lewis in Bethel Village (Trinidad & Tobago) on April 27, 1940, Calypso Rose is an icon of Caribbean music. The author of some twenty albums and over 800 songs, she began her career in the 1960s, becoming the queen of the calypso style. French audiences rediscovered her in 2016 with the track "Abatina", followed by the album Far From Home, released in the same year.
