Somewhere between the jazz swing of Django Reinhardt and the sample-based electro revivalist movement, Caravan Palace has made a success of itself without choosing. Combining these two extremes, the band formed in 2005 scored a hit with "Jolie coquine", taken from their homonymous debut album released in 2008. What seemed to be a one-season affair, now boasting a platinum-certified record, became a long-term commitment with the album Panic! (2012), followed three years later by a cryptically-titled third collection, < I°_°I >. Affiliated with the electro-swing genre in vogue between Paris and London, Caravan Palace has succeeded in its gamble.
