Cartridge 1987

Cartridge 1987 is the pseudonym of Adrien "Drich" Sahuc Sahuc, also known as half of the duo Grand Soleil. Fascinated by video games and sci-fi films from the 1980s/1990s, particularly their musical habillabras, in 2015 the Parisian musician formed the duo Grand Soleil with his brother Benjamin "Pach" Sahuc. The duo's releases include three EPs for the Pain Surprises label and the album Human Error, released by Nowawdays Records in 2021. The same year, they took the name Cartridge 1987, inspired by the wording on the Sega Megadrive console, for the recording of the album Passage (2021), followed by the Rétro Découverte project, the first part of which appeared in 2022, subtitled Saison 3 OST. In 2023, Adrien Sahuc returned under the name 8 Twelve for the album In My Ears, before composing music inspired by famous video games for the second volume of his series, Rétro Découverte: Saison 4 OST, released in 2024.
