Cassandra Steen is a German singer, songwriter and voice actress who first stepped into the spotlight as the lead singer of the pop trio Glashaus. Steen was born in Ostfildern-Ruit near Stuttgart, Germany in 1980. Her career began a little before Glashaus started up when she recorded backing vocals for the song 'Telefonterror' by German rap act Freundeskreis. A few years later Steen re-appeared fronting Glashaus alongside producers Moses Pelham and Martin Haas on the label Pelham Power Productions. Glashaus kicked off their career with the hit single 'Wenn Das Liebe Ist' and a top-five self-titled album. Successive albums 'Glashaus II' (2002) and 'Drei' (2005) also performed well, reaching numbers 16 and four respectively on the German album chart. Meanwhile, Steen recorded a solo album - 'Seele mit Hertz' - and released it in 2003. It was a relative failure, peaking at number 59 on the charts and producing only one single, 'Wie du Lachst', which failed to chart at all. Glashaus went on hiatus in 2006 and didn't come back together to record until 2009, at which point Steen opted not to return. She had been guesting on tracks by artists such as J-Luv and Azad and in February made an attempt to relaunch her solo career with the album 'Darum leben wir'. It fared much better than 'Seele mit Hertz', cracking the German album chart's top ten and going Gold, as well as producing a top-ten single. In 2011 Steen followed it up with 'Mir so nah' and in 2014 she released the album 'Spiegelbild'.
