Cuban-Spanish singer, actress, and dancer Chanel Terrero was born in Havana on July 28, 1991. At the age of 3, she moved with her family to Barcelona, where she began taking singing and acting lessons, also receiving formal ballet training. In 2010, she relocated to Madrid to pursue a career in musical theatre. After starring in a handful of Spanish productions of classic Broadway musicals such as Mamma Mia!, Flashdance, The Bodyguard, and The Lion King, Chanel made a foray into music by participating in the Benidorm Fest 2022, a competition created to choose the Spanish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Following a landslide victory at Benidorm with the song "SloMo," Chanel performed the track at the Eurovision ceremony in Turin, reaching the finals and taking third place. It was Spain's best performance in the competition since 1995. Originally released in December 2021, "SloMo" reached Number 1 on the Promusicae charts and was certified platinum after selling over 60,000 units.
