Chateau Marmont

Originally from Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées), Chateau Marmont takes its name from a famous hotel in Hollywood (California), a meeting place for film and music stars. The quartet debuted in 2005, and quickly made a name for themselves with their remix work. Chateau Marmont's remix of Midnight Juggernauts' single "Into the Galaxy " was featured on Canal +'s Grand Journal. Chateau Marmont's first EP, Solar Apex, was released in 2008. Asked to produce Alizée's Une Enfant du Siècle in 2010, Chateau Marmont succeeded in bringing electro credibility to the former lolita. The group released the EPs Nibiru and Nibiru Remixes in March and October 2010. May 2013 sees the release of debut album The Maze, preceded in March by EP Wargames. Chateau Marmont is back with electro pop in 2015 with Sound of Shambala. Raphaël Vialla, Julien Galinier and Guillaume de Maria hail from Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées). Formed in 2005 with Angy Laperdrix, who left the band prematurely, Chateau Marmont soon moved to Paris, where their career began. The band's electro sound is based on analog synthesizers, influenced in particular by the sound of Kraftwerk. Chateau Marmont is also known for its high quality production and remixes. The remix of Midnight Juggernauts' "Into the Galaxy" brought Chateau Marmont to the attention of a wide audience. The track was used as a sound illustration on Canal +'s Grand Journal , a benchmark program for good musical taste. Chateau Marmont's first EP, Solar Apex, was released in 2008, and features a light electro sound. Solicited by ex-Lolita Alizée, Chateau Marmont made Une Enfant du Siècle one of the real surprises of 2010. Despite its limited commercial success, the album proves credible and even successful. Chateau Marmont is back at it again in March 2010 with the Nibiru EP, followed in October by Nibiru Remixes. Meanwhile, Chateau Marmont confirms its reputation with remixes for La Roux and LadyHawke. The trio, whose style oscillates between Phoenix-style pop melodies and Sébastien Tellier-style ambient tracks, has been slow to deliver its debut album. The Maze was released in May 2013, on the heels of the Wargames EP featuring remixes and another single that gives the album its title. Two years later, Chateau Marmoont released the album Sound of Shambala, featuring collaborations with Alex Gopher or Rouge Mary.
