South Korean singer and dancer, Kim Jong-dae (known as Chen) was born on September 21, 1992, in Daejeon, South Korea, rising to fame as a member and vocalist of the South Korean boy band EXO and its sub-units EXO-CBX and EXO-M. Making his official solo debut in 2019 with the EP April, and a Flower, which charted at number 2 on the South Korean charts thanks to hit single "Beautiful Goodbye," the singer landed the coveted top position with his second mini-album, Dear My Dear in 2019, which also charted in the Top 40 in Japan. Three years later, Chen’s third EP titled Last Scene, skyrocketed the singer once again to the top of the charts, earning him the 2022 Asian Pop Music Award for its title single, collaborating with singer Yang Hee-eun on “My Flower, Your Light (Bloom)” in May 2023, followed by fourth EP Polaris, which shot to number 6 on the Japanese charts in August in the same year. He returned in 2024 with his fourth mini-album Door, which landed at number 4, preceded by the single "Empty."
