Cher

The American singer and actor Cher was born Cherilyn Sarkisian on 10 May 1946 in El Centro, California. She began her career in 1965 as part of the duo Sonny and Cher and launched her solo career at the same time. The three-time Golden Globe winner released her debut album All I Really Want To Do in 1965, which reached 7th place in the UK charts and 16th place in the US charts. In the 1980s, Cher began acting and was awarded an Oscar in 1987 for her leading role in the film Moonstruck. After numerous albums, the album Love Hurts was released in 1991, which reached the top of the charts in Austria and the UK. Cher surpassed this success in 1998 with the album Believe, which reached number one in Germany and Austria. The singles "Believe" and "Strong Enough" were hits. Between 1999 and 2000, the singer toured Europe and North America with her successful Do You Believe? Tour through Europe and North America. Cher won a Grammy Award, an Emmy and an Echo in the course of her career. After releasing further studio albums, the album Dancing Queen was released in 2018, which reached number 6 in the charts in Switzerland, number 4 in Austria and number 5 in Germany. This was followed by her Here We Go Again tour through Australia, Europe, and North America.
