Chiquis Rivera

Janney Marín "Chiquis" Rivera, born on June 26, 1985, is an American singer and television personality, known for her extensive contributions to the banda genre, a traditional Mexican music style. She is the eldest daughter of the late regional Mexican star Jenni Rivera and her first husband, José Trinidad Marín. Born and raised in California, Chiquis Rivera grew up surrounded by music and entertainment. She made her television debut with reality shows like Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis & Raq-C, Chiquis 'n Control, and I Love Jenni, where she appeared alongside her mother. She also starred in her mini web-series Chiquis Confidential and later in The Riveras, a spin-off of I Love Jenni. She launched her singing career in early 2014 with her first single, "Paloma Blanca," a tribute to her late mother. She made her international television debut at Premios Juventud, performing the track "Esa No Soy Yo." In 2015, Chiquis Rivera released her debut album, Ahora, which blends pop with banda. Her second studio album, Entre Botellas, arrived in 2018 and featured collaborations with Lorenzo Mendez, Juan Rivera, and posthumous recordings with her mother, Jenni Rivera. The album included singles like "Vas a Volver," "Horas Extras," and "Quisieran Tener Mi Lugar." Subsequent releases like Playlist (2020) and Abeja Reina (2022) only boosted her ever-growing popularity, with both winning Best Banda Album at the Latin Grammy Awards. She followed this success with the B-sides collection Bee Side (2023) and Diamantes, released in 2024. "No Te Quiero Quemar," one of the album's promotional singles, peaked at number 34 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart. An extended edition titled Diamantes VVS1 arrived later that year, with the single "Que Siga Pasando" debuting at number 39 on the Mexican Regional charts.
