Chris Darrow, who died following a stroke on 15th January 2020, aged 75, was an American country rock musician who played several instruments and performed notably with the bands Kaleidoscope and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. He had early stints with outfits called the Dry City Scat Band and the Floggs and he performed with many other artists including Leonard Cohen, James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. He released his first solo album 'Artist Proof', in 1972 and made several more including 'Chris Darrow' (1973), 'Fretless' (1979), 'Eye of the Storm' (1981), 'Coyote Straight from the Heart' (1997), 'Slide On In' (2002) and 'Wages of Sin' (2006).
