Christine Salem has been singing maloya since her childhood in the Camélias district of Saint-Denis de la Réunion. In 1997, she formed the group Salem Tradition and performed throughout the island and the Indian Ocean. Christine Salem doesn't limit herself to maloya, opening up to sega and blues, as well as African influences. In 2010, Christine Salem released her first solo album, Lanbousir. Always concerned by the social difficulties encountered by the population of La Réunion, Christine Salem once again makes her deep voice heard on Salem Tradition in 2013, on which Moriarty appears on two tracks.
