Indonesian-German singer and actress Cinta Laura Kiehl was born in Quakenbrück, Germany, on August 17, 1993. She spent part of her childhood traveling around the world with her family and finally settled down in Indonesia at the age of 12. There, she joined the national swimming team, winning several medals in various competitions. In 2007, she made her acting debut on the soap opera Cinderella: Apakah Cinta Hanyalah Mimpi?, a role that won her Best Indonesian Actress at the SCTV Awards. That same year, the single "Oh Baby," featured in the comedy film of the same name, rose to the top of charts in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam. Her multi-platinum eponymous studio debut appeared in 2010 and was followed by the equally successful Hollywood Dreams in 2012. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, Cinta Laura put her music career on hold and fully devoted herself to acting, starring in films like After the Dark (2013), The Ninth Passenger (2018), and Goodnight (2018), which earned her an award for Best Film Actress at the 2019 Latino Film Awards. Following the release of the English singles "Caliente" (2019), "Vida" (2019), "Cloud 9" (2020), and "Markisa" (2021), Cinta Laura re-entered the local charts with "Saku Kamu" (2022), her first Indonesian single in almost a decade.
