After ten years of friendship and cross-collaborations, Calogero, Stanislas and Philippe Uminski decided in 2012 to form a group with the allure of a French variety supergroup. They lured singers and musicians Elsa Fourlon and Karen Brunon into their nets to form Circus in 2012. The band's name was not chosen at random, as the themes of the songs were supposed to revolve around the world of the circus and acrobats. Jean-Jacques Goldman, Marc Lavoine and Dominique A make friendly contributions to the lyrics. Sur un fil" was released in June 2012 as a prelude to an album due for release in November.
