City Girls is a Southern rap duo consisting of Yung Miami (born "Caresha Romeka Brownlee" on February 11, 1994) and JT (born "Jatavia Shakara Johnson" on December 3, 1992). Hailing from Miami, Florida, the duo formed in 2017 and debuted with "Fuck Dat Nigga," a diss track written about one of the women's ex-boyfriends. The track started picking up steam and became an unexpected club hit. It was followed by the duo’s first mixtape, Period, which reached number 18 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart in 2018. Even so, it was City Girls' contribution to Drake’s "In My Feelings," a Number 1 hit that featured Yung Miami and JT as songwriters and vocalists, that earned the duo international attention. City Girls released their debut album Girl Code in November 2018, peaking at number 55 on the Billboard 200. The album included the single “Twerk,” a platinum-certified collaboration with Cardi B that reached number 29 on the Hot 100, and "Act Up," a triple-platinum hit that climbed to number 26. City Girls released their follow-up to Girl Code, City On Lock, in June 2020. The album reached number 29 on the Billboard 200 and featured "Pussy Talk," a duet with Doja Cat. RAW, the duo's third LP, followed in 2023.
