CLMD is the stage name of the Norwegian DJ and producer Martin Danielle (birth name Martin Alexander Bjercke). The project began as a duo with fellow Norwegian DJ Carl Louis, forming the duo's name from their initials. Close friends from an early age, Carl and Martin became interested in dance music during high school and began DJing at friends' house parties. The duo began producing tracks together and scored an early hit with the 2010 track 'The Message.' Supported by Chris Lake's Rising Music record label and included in the set list of Swedish superstar DJ Axwell, the track reached the top ten on the DJ website Beatport. Gaining the attention of major record labels, the duo then produced official remixes for the Bruno Mars track 'Just the Way You Are' and Estelle's 'Fall in Love.' Signing a distribution deal with Sony Music, Carl and Martin created the UPNORTH Recordings label in 2012 and released the platinum selling single 'Black Eyes & Blue'. In 2014, Carl Louis left to focus on a solo career, with Martin keeping their stage name as an acronym for Create Love, Music and Dreams. He continued to release singles as CLMD including 'Keep Dreaming' (2015) featuring the singer Jared Lee and 'Dust' (2016) featuring Astrid S, the latter track gaining over 15 million streams. 'Dust' also appeared on CLMD's debut album 'Phases' (2017) alongside 'Slow Me Down' featuring Skinny Days. In 2017, Martin became the first non-vocalist mentor on the Norwegian version of the TV singing competition 'The Voice'. CLMD returned with the singles 'Trouble' (2018) and 'Anything' (2019) featuring the Norwegian rap pop duo Madcon.
