Although a Canadian by birth, musician and producer Colin Linden was raised in White Plains, New York and from an early age was exposed to acts such as Van Morrison, Johnny Winter, James Taylor and John Mayall when they appeared at the city's venues. After moving back to Toronto, Linden's exposure to high quality blues continued when he met Howlin' Wolf and had the opportunity to speak at length with the blues legend. These early influences led to Linden eventually becoming one of Canada's best known bluesmen and during the '80s and '90s he released a string of consistently well received albums including 'South at Eight, North at Nine', an album which combines a fascinating blend of country, folk, blues and gospel and which won a Juno Award in 1993. Further accolades followed with more Juno Awards and a Grammy nomination for his work as a producer on the 1998 album 'A Tribute to Howlin' Wolf'. In tandem with his solo career Linden also plays in the band Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and has been a cornerstone of the hit TV show 'Nashville' since 2012 playing on the show as well as being involved in the production and direction of the musical content.
