Combichrist is a band founded in 2003 with US and Norwegian roots. Initially, the band only consisted of Andy LaPlegua. In 2003, he released The Joy of Gunz, Combichrist's debut album. Musically, the musician moves in the areas of aggrotech and rhythm 'n' noise. The pure studio project gradually becomes a band. Subsequently, the two keyboardists Shaun F and Mr. Petersen as well as drummer Joe Letz and percussionist John H join the band. The EP Sex, Drugs and Industrial became the first minor hit for Combichrist in 2004. Over time, the band's sound became more brutal. In 2009 and 2010, Combichrist accompanied Rammstein's tour as the support act for several gigs. This increased the band's popularity. In 2010, Making Monsters made its first chart entry in Germany at number 89. After No Redemption (2013, number 90), Combichrist made it into the German top 40 with the follow-up We Love You at number 39. The album This Is Where Death Begins climbed even higher in the German charts at number 27. In 2019, the album One Fire reached number 13 in Germany. After that, things quietened down a bit for the band. In 2022, Combichrist released another EP, Heads Off. Another studio album, Cmbcrst, followed two years later. The album climbed to number 40 in Germany.
