Corrella

Corrella, an eight-member roots reggae band from New Zealand, was formed in 2017 by members of the Royal New Zealand Navy in Belmont, Auckland. The band line-up includes Rebekah Brady Ngawaiwera Campbell, Pipiwharauroa Campbell, Joshua Faletutulu, Taula Schuster, "Ulu" Tom Scrase, Te Naawe Tupe, Codi Wehi-Ngati, and Eli Wilson. Their musical journey began in 2020 with the release of their debut single, "Summertime in Aotearoa" from their debut extended play, Corrella EP, in 2021. In 2023, Corrella made waves with the release of "Ko Au (I Am Me)", their second song recorded in Māori, penned by lead singer Pipiwharauroa Campbell, who drew from his own experiences of rediscovering pride in his cultural identity. The song quickly rose to the top of the Te Reo Māori singles chart in New Zealand. Their debut album, Road from 26, arrived in May 2023, peaking at number 7 on the New Zealand Charts. One of the standout tracks from the album, "Blue Eyed Māori", skyrocketed to Number 1 on the New Zealand artists' singles chart, becoming one of the most played and streamed songs in the country that year. The group followed Road from 26 with their sophomore effort Skeletons in November 2024.
