Crazy P

Crazy P (formerly Crazy Penis) are a British electronic dance group known for their unique blend of funky house, disco, and soul-infused beats. Originating from Nottingham, UK, the band formed in the late 1990s and initially went by the provocative name Crazy Penis, which they later shortened to Crazy P. The group's core founding members comprise Chris Todd (aka Hot Toddy) and Jim Baron (aka Ron Basejam). Their sound is an eclectic mix of disco, funk, house, and soul, often layered with playful vocals and groovy basslines. Crazy P are known for their live performances, which are a dynamic combination of DJing and live musicianship, giving their tracks a distinct energy that translates well on stage. They gained significant attention with their breakthrough album, A Night On Earth (2005), which featured a mix of house, funk, and smooth vocals and incorporated new members Danielle Moore (vocalist) and Mav Kendricks (percussionist). Their subsequent albums, including When We On (2011)—which by this point featured new percussionist Matt Klose, who joined in 2008–and Age of the Ego (2019) continued to build their reputation as pioneers in the alternative dance and nu-disco genres. On 30 August 2024, Danielle Moore passed away at the age of 52. In November, the band released new album Any Signs of Love, which they had worked on prior to Danielle Moore's death.
