C-Real

C-REAL was a South Korean girl group formed by NAP Entertainment in 2011. Their group name, C-REAL, was derived from the first letter of each member's name. The five-member group, consisting of Chemi, Effie, Ann J, Re Dee, and Lenny, debuted in October of that year with the release of their single "No No No No No." They were produced by Choi Kab Won, who also worked with IU, earning them the nickname "5-IU Idols." Their debut EP, Round 1 (2011), was produced by Brave Brothers and released shortly after the single, peaking at number 18 on the Circle Chart. This EP made a big splash internationally, particularly in Japan. They took an unconventional approach to their Japanese promotions, auctioning their future contract to the highest bidder rather than signing with an agency in advance. In 2012, C-REAL released their second EP, Love Diary, with the lead track "Joma Joma." They also participated in the Hope Concert for Multicultural Families alongside other K-pop groups. Their first digital single "Sorry But I" debuted at number 90 on the Circle Digital Chart, followed by their second digital single "Danger Girl." By 2013, C-REAL experienced lineup changes, with members Lenny and Re Dee leaving the group. The group went on an indefinite hiatus due to members returning to school and has been inactive since September 2014, leading to speculation about their disbandment, although no official statement has been made.
