Creepy Nuts, a Japanese hip-hop duo composed of R-Shitei and DJ Matsunaga, made their debut on a major label in 2017, following the success of their 2016 EP Tarinai Futari, which reached number 16 on the Billboard Japan charts, climbing to number 9 with EP Joen Dan'yū-shō (2017). Their debut studio album, Creep Show, dropped on April 11, 2018, peaking at number 11. In August 2019, they released their third EP, Yofukashi no Uta, also reaching number 11. Their fourth EP, Katsute Tensai Datta Oretachi e, was released in August 2020 and soared to number 2. Following this success, their second album, Case, was released in September 2021, reaching number 3. In September 2022, Creepy Nuts released their new album, Ensemble Play, which returned them to the same position. Their single "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born," unveiled on January 7, 2024 as the opening theme for the second season of the anime series Mashle: Magic and Muscles, dominated the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for eight weeks straight. This marked the duo's first Number 1 single as lead artists on the chart, also reaching number 8 on the Billboard Global 200.
