Shante Scott Franklin, aka Curren$y, is an American hip-hop performer with several hit rap albums since his 2010 release 'Pilot Talk' which went to number six on Billboard's Top Rap Albums Chart and number nine on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. Born in New Orleans, he began making mixtapes in the early 2000s and later collaborated with Freddie Gibbs, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne. 'Pilot Talk II' (2010) reached number nine on the Rap Chart and number 15 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. 'Weekend at Burnies' (2011) went to number four on the Rap Chart and number six on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. 'The Stoned Immaculate' (2012) reached number two on the Rap Chart and the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number eight on the Billboard 200. 'Live: in Concert' (2013) peaked at number six on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number seven on the Rap Chart. EP 'Even More Saturday Night Car Tunes' (2015) went to number eight on the Rap Chart and the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart, 'Canal Street Confidential' (2015) reached number four on the Rap Chart and number six on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and he released two albums in 2018, 'Cigarette Boats' and 'Fetti'. His 2019 release '2009' with Wiz Khalifa peaked at number 19 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number 17 on the Rap Chart.
