Born on January 10, 1981, Prinya Intachai, also known as Daboyway, is an American-born Thai rapper, songwriter, producer, and actor. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Thai immigrants and spent his childhood in Brooklyn, New York. There, he developed a love for sports, particularly basketball and track, as well as an interest in performing arts, often mimicking characters from films. In 1997, after graduating from high school, Daboyway traveled to Bangkok for a two-month visit to see his family. During this time, he began writing songs and making new friends, which led to the release of his first pop album two years later. He gained fame as a member of the hip hop group Thaitanium, which was formed in 2000 with his friends Khanngoen "Khan" Nuanual and Nay Myo "Day" Thant. The group is currently the best-selling hip hop act in Thailand and Southeast Asia. He also pursued acting during his time in Bangkok, going on to make his Thai horror film debut in 1999 and his Hollywood debut in a Thai produced action film in 2002. In 2010, he starred in the American romantic comedy film The Prince & Me: The Elephant Adventure. In recent years, Daboyway has established himself as a solo artist, releasing tracks like "Yeah Yeah Yeah" in 2016, which received over 21 million views on a video streaming platform and 6 million streams, "Make It Happen" (2017) featuring Yaya Urassaya, "Air" (2019) and many more. In September 2019, Daboyway was recruited to be part of the newly formed major label, Def Jam Recordings South East Asia.
