Daesung

Born Kang Daesung on 26 April 1989 in Seoul, the singer, actor, and television personality known as Daesung (or D-lite in Japan) rose to fame as a member of South Korean boyband Big Bang in 2006 before embarking on a solo career two years later. As a champion of the popular Korean trot genre, he went to number one with "Look at Me, Gwisoon" in 2008 and became a regular on the Gaon Digital Chart with Big Bang, notching up hits like "Cotton Candy" and "Wings" from 2012's Alive album. Daesung's first Japanese solo album D'scover arrived in 2013 with D'slove following in 2014, which went to number one on Japan's Oricon Daily Album Chart. He continued to put out releases consistently in subsequent years, from 2017's D-Day EP produced by Kameda Seiji and 2018 effort D Na SHOW, Vol. 1. He returned in 2024 with the song "Our Memories" from Pt.4 of the original FlexxCop soundtrack.
