Born on November 15, 1978, in London, England, Damian Lazarus is a prominent DJ in the electronic music and underground dance scene. In 2003, he founded Crosstown Rebels, a highly influential record label that's been pivotal in discovering and promoting talented artists and releasing music from industry-respected names. Known for his eclectic style that fuses techno, house, and electronica, Lazarus incorporates world music, tribal rhythms, and hypnotic sounds into his DJ sets, earning him a dedicated fanbase. Releasing debut album, Smoke the Monster Out, in May 2009, he followed this with compilation mix fabric 54 in 2010 (part of the renowned London fabric nightclub series), followed by a string of EPs, including Vermillion (2015), Remixes from the Other Side (2016), and Moment in the Dark (2019). In 2020, he received critical acclaim for his third album, Flourish, followed by the experimental Beijing Spring, inspired by a film of the same name. In the years that followed, Lazarus continued to release a series of singles and remixes, including "Memory" (2021), "The Future" (featuring Robert Owens) (2021), "Oath" (2022), "We Will Forgive Ourselves" (2022), as well as EPs Voices in My Head (2023), Temple of Dreams (2023), and The Snake Charmer (2023).
