After a move to the UK as a child, New Zealand-born Bedingfield nurtured an interest in music, along with his popstrel sisters Natasha and Rachelle who went on to achieve some success in their own fields. Brother Daniel, however, recorded his first song Gotta Get Thru This in his bedroom in 2001. Perhaps not such an auspicious start, but the single flew straight to Number 1 in the UK charts and so began the singer's stellar career. With the scent of success in the air, further Number 1s soon followed, in the shape of If You're Not The One (2002) and Never Gonna Leave Your Side (2003). After a stint with indie label, Relentless Records, Bedingfield moved across to Polydor and began work on new material (this time from a studio...). His subsequent album, Second First Impressions (2004) wasn't quite the smash of the first, but sailed to Number 8 in the UK and spawned two top 20 singles. Sadly, the artist was involved in a car accident in his Homeland, New Zealand at the end of 2004 which meant an impromptu break from recording but he is currently working on his third album.
