Debbie Davis is an American singer whose musical career flourished in France, where she became a naturalized citizen. She took her first steps on stage as a backing singer alongside Sylvie Vartan, and was spotted six years later by François Valery, who offered her the opportunity to take part in the soundtrack to the successful erotic film Joy, for which he himself wrote the credits. He gave her another chance in 1985, offering her two tracks on the soundtrack ofUn été d'enfer, a film starring Thierry Lhermitte and Véronique Jannot. She sang "J'aime l'amour avec toi " (14 weeks in the Top 50) and "Emotion " (11 weeks in the Top 50). Debbie Davis went on to sing backing vocals for a number of artists, before moving on to commercials. In 1995, she re-emerged on the charts with adaptations of songs from The Lion King andHercules.
