Dee Nasty is one of the few representatives of old-school rap in France. In 1979, he discovered hip-hop culture in the United States. From then on, Dee Nasty devoted himself to the turntables, working to spread this then confidential music. His 1984 debut album Paname City Rappin' is now largely unobtainable. An underground organizer and host of Radio Nova, he took part in the beginnings of groups such as NTM and Assassin. His albums, such as Dee Nasty (1991) and the more recent System Dee (2009), have never been released to a circle of true rap fans.
