Delacruz, born Daniel Azevedo da Cruz on December 30, 1997, in Vigário Geral, Rio de Janeiro, is one of the standout voices of Brazil’s new music generation. His career took off in 2015 with the release of "Flor de Lis," a track that quickly garnered over 14 million views. At just 19 years old, he gained national fame in 2017 with his participation in Pineapple Storm's Poesia Acústica #2 alongside BK, Maria, and others. The song "Sobre Nós," one of his biggest hits, became a sensation with over 690 million views and was featured in the Globo TV series O Sétimo Guardião. Delacruz has since released three EPs—Nonsense Vol. 1 (2019) & 2 (2020) and Show Case (2020)—featuring collaborations with prominent artists such as Ludmilla, Djonga, Filipe Ret, and MC Hariel. In 2021, he paid homage to 1990s funk with the single "Romântico 90," a collaboration with MC Marcinho that showcased his versatility across genres. Singles like "Aladdin" (2023) and "Afrodite" (2024) with IZA and JOK3R continued to push creative boundaries, solidifying Delacruz as a multifaceted artist in Brazil’s urban music scene.
