The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio are a jazz funk band formed in Seattle in 2015. Although the group are essentially a contemporary jazz trio their sound evokes memories of the 1960s jazz and funk era due to organist Lamarr's choice of Hammond B3 as his primary keyboard. The Hammond's distinctive sound gives a period flavour to the band's compositions and Lamarr is renowned for getting the best out of this iconic instrument. The band's original line-up consisted of drummer David McGraw and guitarist Colin Higgins but these have since been replaced by Doug Octa Port and Jimmy James who now form the nucleus of the band. All the musicians both past and present were well known and respected players in the Seattle jazz scene and the band have built up an enthusiastic following both in the US and abroad. Their critically acclaimed debut album 'Close But No Cigar' was released in March 2018 and went to number one on the US Contemporary Jazz Albums Chart and number three on the US Jazz Albums Chart.
