Dena Mwana, real name Denise Mwanakitata Muwayi, is a Congolese gospel singer born in Kinshasa. Passionate about music from an early age, she began singing in a church choir before embarking on a professional career. In 2011, she released her debut album Hosanna, which revealed her to the French-speaking gospel scene. Her second album Monene (2016) confirms her success, with chart-toppers like"Souffle" and"Emmanuel". In 2021, she released"Souffle", a project that met with great success, notably with"Je verrai sa gloire". Influenced by artists such as CeCe Winans and Sinach, Dena Mwana draws inspiration from African musical traditions and contemporary gospel. She collaborates with gospel figures such as Dan Luiten, Deborah Lukalu and Mike Kalambay. In 2023, she made history with an exceptional concert at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, attracting a huge crowd.
