Deryl Dodd

Deryl Dodd is a Texas-born/Nashville-based country music artist. He started his career playing Texas clubs before moving to Nashville in 1991. He quickly became an in-demand guitarist and worked with both Tracy Lawrence and Martina McBride. He branched out on his own, signed with Columbia Records and released his debut album, One Ride in Vegas, in 1996. He followed that up in 1998 with his self-titled sophomore album. “Bitter End”, which was taken from the Deryl Dodd album, was his highest charting single, climbing to Number 26 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. That year, he was nominated as Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. Suddenly confronted with a serious illness (viral encephalitis), Deryl put his career on hold. After six months of being bed ridden and 18 months of rehabilitation, he resumed his career in 2000, touring with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as well as releasing his third studio album, Pearl Snaps, in 2002. Deryl Dodd left Columbia Records and recorded a live release for the Live at Billy Bob’s Texas label. He then signed with Dualtone Records, releasing albums in 2004 and 2006. He has continued to tour and record.
