This Montpellier-based band has been led since 1995 by P. DeStijl, musician turned producer. Their period of activity can be divided into two phases. The first, in 1996 and 1999, saw the release of the albums DeStijl and De: construction, combining cold-wave and electro. Then, after a 10-year break, DeStijl returned with The White Stripes, a nod to Jack White's band, which had broken up earlier in the year. Although the two bands' music is totally different, it's just a well-thought-out media foot-in-the-door: in 2000, the Whites Stripes released the album De Stijl!
