Diana King

Singer Diana King is best known for her cover of Dionne Warwick's 'I Say a Little Prayer' which was featured in the 1997 film 'My Best Friend's Wedding'. Originating from St. Catherine in Jamaica, she promoted a mix of reggae and dancehall in her music. She signed a record deal with Sony Music in 1994 after they heard her performance on The Notorious B.I.G.'s song 'Respect'. The same year, she covered Bob Marley's 'Stir It Up' for the film 'Cool Runnings'. In 1995, she released her debut album, 'Tougher Than Love', charting at number one on the Reggae Chart. After 'I Say a Little Prayer', with which she broke into the top 40 of the Billboard 100, she released her second album, 'Think Like a Girl' (1997), charting at number one once again on the Reggae Chart. She went on to collaborate with artists including Ziggy Marley, Toots Hibbert, Shaggy and Maxi Priest. Her third album, 'Respect', was released in 2002 in Japan, with future plans of a European release put on hold. 2006 eventually saw the album released in the UK, but it was not well received in the charts. Launching her own record label ThinkLikeAGirL in 2007, she released her fourth album 'Warrior Gurl' in association with Warner Music Japan. For the album's international release she changed the title to 'AgirLnaMeKING', released in 2012. After coming out publicly to her fans, she began working with an all-lesbian record label to produce her latest album, taking a move into EDM music.
