Dinner Party is a jazz / hip hop supergroup formed in 2019. Founded by DJ / rapper 9th Wonder (real name: Patrick Douthit), jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, jazz and hip hop singer / rapper / musician Terrace Martin, and jazz keyboardist Robert Glasper, the four members began recording together in 2019. The studio sessions also featured guest appearances from Michael E. Neil and Marlon Williams. Dinner Party’s first release was their 2020 self-titled debut EP, which featured the single “Freeze Tag.” The following year, they released Dinner Party: Dessert, which featured remixes of tracks from the debut EP. This second release - which included guest artists Snoop Dogg, Buddy, Bilal, Rapsody, and Punch – was nominated for 2022 Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album. In 2023, the quartet returned with the album Enigmatic Society, which featured guest appearances by Phoelix, Arin Ray, Ant Clemons, and Tank.
