Like DJ Cam and DJ Shadow, Japanese DJ Krush, born Hideaki Ishi in Tokyo in 1962, emerged from the hip-hop scratch and mix scene to develop his own electro style, influenced by acid jazz and trip-hop. In 1994, this historic DJ released Stickly Turntablized, an album that has since become an electro benchmark. His other landmark productions, Krush (1995) and Kakusei (1999), each embrace a new style. In 2002, he made use of computer technology in Shinso: The Message at the Depth. Between his remix albums, his own recordings and his many collaborations, DJ Krush never ceases to broaden his palette, as evidenced by his music for the animated film First Squad (2009). In 2015, he returns with the album Butterfly Effect.
