Troublemakers dormant since 2007 and the mixed compilation My Playlist, Lionel Corsini aka DJ Oil is now frolicking solo. Born in 1972 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), DJ Oil released his first album in 2012 with Black Notes. The success of his trip-hop/abstract hip-hop sound enabled him to sign to the BBE label, home to DJ Vadim and J Dilla. Far from the conventional image of the studio wizard that sticks to the skin of electro producers, DJ Oil recorded his album Phantom (2014) live. This improvisational album attracted a lot of attention in France with the song "Drop Out", which was very popular on streaming sites in early 2015.
