Japanese DJ and record producer DJ Okawari was born in Shizuoka, Japan. He is known for his blend of jazz piano and hip-hop, and his music features a wide variety of samples. His first album, 'Diorama' was released in 2008 and featured the popular single 'Bluebird Story' featuring Jumelles. In 2009, he released the album 'Mirror', which includes the popular track 'Luv Letter' (2009). Okawari released an album of DJ mixes in 2010 called 'Libyus Music Sound History' featuring samples from a wide variety of artists including Tsunenori, Hazzy, Woodblue and Fat Jon. The most popular track from this album is 'Flower Dance' (2010), an instrumental piano melody accompanied by a synthesised backing track. A further album 'Kaleidoscope' followed in 2011, featuring the singles 'A Cup of Coffee' (2010) and 'Temperature of Tears' (2011). Okawari released four albums between 2017 and 2019: 'Compass' (2017) which included the single 'Midnight Train' (2017) featuring Emi Meyer, then 'Restore' in (2018), 'Perfect Blue' (2018) and 'Nightfall' (2019). Okawari has amassed more than ten million followers on video streaming channels online. The artwork from his album covers is also notable, depicting brightly coloured stylised profile portraits by Japanese graphic artist Marumiyam.
