Mixing explosive, post-hardcore riffs with wayward pop hooks and big, atmospheric, heart-on-sleeve crescendos, Don Broco established themselves as firm favorites on the UK alternative rock scene with a reputation for raucous, sweaty live shows. Formed by school friends Rob Damiani, Simon Delaney, and Matt Donnelly in the English East Anglian town of Bedford in 2008, the lads reunited after university and the band took off when they graduated from playing dive bars and parties to supporting electro-punk thrashers Enter Shikari on tour in 2009. Their EPs Thug Workout and Big Fat Smile further boosted their profile before their debut album Priorities (2012) came crammed with thunderous, sprawling grunge and youthful angst and reached number 25 in the UK charts. Follow-up Automatic (2015) fared even better, reaching number six, and the band went on to headline the Kerrang! magazine UK tour and support 5 Seconds of Summer and Bring Me the Horizon across Europe. Their bouncy, pop-rock and quirky, catchy choruses helped build a big teenage following and, after signing with American indie label SharpTone Records, they returned in 2018 with their third studio album Technology and single "Come Out to LA," pursuing a far heavier rock approach than previously. In 2021, the band rolled out their fourth album, Amazing Things, which initially reached Number 91 on the UK Album Charts but ascended to the top spot in February 2022 thanks to a physical release, beating The Weeknd's Dawn FM and giving the band their first UK Number One.
