Donots

The Donots are a punk rock band from Germany founded in 1994. After initial demo recordings, the Donots released their debut album Pedigree Punk in 1995. The band then went on an extensive concert and festival tour, sharing the stage with well-known acts such as Blink-182 and Propagandhi. After two more albums, Tonight's Karaoke Contest Winners (1998) and Better Days Not Included (1999), the Donots achieved their breakthrough with their fourth studio album Pocketrock in 2001. The longplayer reached number 31 in the German album charts. In particular, the pre-released single "Whatever Happened to the 80s" (2000) develops into an indie hit and reaches number 67 in the German charts. The two albums that followed, Amplify the Good Times (2002) and Got the Noise (2004), also took the Donots into the top 20 of the German charts. With the album Wake the Dogs, the Donots made it into the top 10 of the German charts for the first time in 2012 at number 6. In 2014, the Donots took part in the Band Aid 30 Germany project with the single "Do They Know It's Christmas", which became a number 1 hit in Germany. 2015 marks a change in the Donots' band history, with the release of Karacho, their first album in German. At number 5, the Donots once again make it into the top 10 of the German charts. The follow-up, Lauter als Bomben, was an even bigger success in Germany in 2018, reaching number 4. One year later, the band celebrates its 25th anniversary on stage with the best-of album Silverhochzeit (number 6 in Germany). After a short break, the Donots start the year 2023 with Heut ist ein guter Tag.
