Heralded as one of the leading British string ensembles of recent times, Doric String Quartet comprises violinists Alex Redington and Jonathan Stone, violist Hélène Clément and cellist John Myersclough who perform in concert halls across Europe and tour North America regularly. They also perform regularly at London's Wigmore Hall and have played at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Vienna Konzerthaus, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Hamburg Laeiszhalle and De Singel, Antwerp, and in 2010 they made their American debut at the Frick Museum in New York and Library of Congress in Washington. Their first album 'Haydn: String Quartet in D minor Op. 9; String Quartet in C, Op. 50; String Quartet in G, Op. 76' received a warm welcome and since 2010 they have recorded on the Chandos Records label. They have collaborated with many other major artists and have released at least one album each year since 2010 of works by Korngold, Walton, Schumann, Schubert, Chausson, Haydn, Janácek, Brett Dean and Elgar. In 2018 they released 'Haydn: String Quartets, Op. 64' and 'John Adams: Naive and Sentimental Music; Absolute Jest'. Their 2018 schedule included performances at London's Wigmore Hall, venues in several other UK cities and in Germany, Netherlands, France and Argentina with dates set in 2019 in America.
