Du Blonde

Beth Jeans Houghton, an artistic personality with a background in music, video and songwriting, made a name for herself before adopting the pseudonym Du Blonde. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne on January 3, 1990, she dropped out of school at the age of 16 to devote herself to learning guitar and songwriting. His career began in 2006 with the release of several singles on independent labels and the EP Hot Toast, Vol. 1, produced by Mike Lindsay of the band Tuung. After the Ben Hiller-produced album Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose in 2012, Beth Jean Houghton left to find inspiration on the American West Coast and resurfaced as Du Blonde with the album Welcome Back to Milk (2015), recorded between London and Los Angeles with Samuel T. Herring (Future Islands) and Jim Sclavunos, drummer with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. After producing several videos for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ezra Furman and other artists, Du Blonde returns to music in 2019 with the album Lung Bread for Daddy, featuring contributions from Shirley Manson, Andy Bell and musicians from the bands Girl Ray and Tuung. In 2021, Homecoming follows, tinged with glam rock, as on Sniff More Gritty (2024), featuring Skin from Skunk Anansie, Laura Jane Grace from Against Me!, Paul Smith from Maxïmo Park and Ross Millard from Futureheads.
