Eason Chan is a Hong Kong-born singer-songwriter and actor, who is one of the most decorated Asian artists alive today, beingdubbed the God of Songs. He is a multi-instrumentalist and performs the guitar, piano, harmonica and accordion at his live shows. After moving to England at an early age, Chan received a grade eight vocal certification from the Royal Academy of Music before returning to Hong Kong and signing a deal with Capital Artists. Following on from the release of his debut album in 1996, his career went from strength to strength, winning countless awards and critical and commercial acclaim. Chan also had a successful career outside of music, starring in a number of Asian films and receiving a host of award nominations for his efforts. He was also invited to be a guest speaker at the University of Hong Kong as part of their Hall of Wisdom lecture series. He also did notable charity work, including performing at the Chinese leg of Live Earth in 2007 and has been Orbis International's Sight Ambassador in Hong Kong since 2006.
