Eddy Lover

Eddy Lover is a reggaeton singer from Panama City, Panama, whose tropical sound and collaborative work ethic landed him a significant hit, "Perdóname," in 2007. He was born as Eduardo Mosquera on March 15, 1985, and began singing at 12 years old. More than a decade later, he made his studio debut with 2000's "Lloro." Eddy Lover's big break arrived in 2006, when he teamed up with another Panama City-based reggaeton act, La Factoría, for the popular single "Perdoname." Released on La Factoría's third album, Nuevas Metas, "Perdoname" became a platinum-selling single in the Caribbean, peaked at Number 12 on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart, and won an ASCAP Latin Music Award for "Urban Song of the Year." Eddy Lover capitalized on the song's success by releasing two singles as a solo artist, "Prefiero que te Vayas" and "Vete," both of which became national hits in Panama. He then signed with Machete Music, Universal Music Group's reggaeton-focused imprint, and released his full-length solo debut, Perdóname, in 2008. In addition to featuring the titular hit song, Perdóname also included the Latin pop hit "Luna," which climbed to Number 2 on Billboard's Tropical Airplay chart. An EP entitled 6 Super Hits followed in 2009, featuring two tracks that later appeared on Eddy Lover's sophomore album, New Age, in 2011. Flower Lover followed in 2015. Six years later, Lover released a new version of "Perdóname," this one recorded with former La Factoría member Demphra.
