Nigerian dance artist Eddy Wata (March 3, 1976) gained attention in 2004 for his breakthrough single, "Jam." Born in Kaduna, Nigeria to a Nigerian mother and Jamaican father, he moved to Jamaica aged 18 where he lived for four years and was able to nurture a love of reggae that went on to shape a number of his musical creations in the future. He released a follow-up single to "Jam" in 2004, titled "In Your Mind," which hit Number 34 in France and "La Bomba" in 2005, which erupted into a European hit, taking the Number 10 spot in Finland, Number 19 spot in Denmark and Number 59 spot in France. Three years later, he made international waves with the European dance anthem "I Love My People" and has continued to release dance tunes like 2010 EP "I Like the Way," 2011's "Señorita" and 2015's "Shake Your Bom Bom." 2021 saw the release of a remix album, My Dream 2021, featuring remixes of hits like "Señorita" and "Shake Your Bom Bom," among others.
