Kimmo Ilpo Juhani Laiho was born on April 18, 1981 in Helsinki, Finland. He began taking guitar lessons at the age of seven. He was just as interested in dance, and four years later, at the age of eleven, he joined the breakdance groups IMC and Savage Feet. Thanks to his brother, who gave him a hip-hop cassette, he began to develop a passion for this musical style and wrote his first lyrics. Then he met the man who was to become his musical alter ego, Iso H, with whom he founded the rap duo Fintelligens in 1997. They signed their first record label contract when he was just 18 and had just graduated from the Sibelius Academy, a music university in Helsinki. Their first opus, Renesanssi, which he partly produced, was certified gold in 2000, encouraging the two friends to follow it up as soon as possible. In 2001, they released Tän Tahtiin, which was also certified gold. His ascent was slightly slowed down in 2002, when he had to fulfill his military obligations. However, he still managed to give a number of concerts with Iso H, while Fintelligens released its third opus, Kokemusten Summa, which he produced entirely. This success gave him the confidence to go solo in 2004 with a debut album entitled Elaksis Kivi, followed two years later by Anna Soida. E.L.A., his third solo album, was released in 2007. It includes the hit "Ovet Paukkuu" . In 2013, Elastinen released Joka päivä koko päivä, followed by Elastinen Feat. in 2016. Thereafter, he followed up with a string of hit singles, including "Supervoimii" and "Loppuun asti " in 2018, No. 2 and No. 1 respectively in the Finnish charts. "Keinutaan" and "Pilasit mun elämän (Forever Yours)" were also successful in 2019, while "Epäröimättä hetkeekään", featuring Jenni Vartiainen, reached No. 1 in the local charts in 2020. Following her third album, Uusia Muistoi, released the same year, Elastinen scored a string of hits when the Covid-19 pandemic returned, including "Tippa-T" in 2022, the duets "Pimee" with Bess at No. 8, "Aaltoi päin" with Jami Faltin at No. 7 in 2023 and "Toiset samanloiset" with Käärijä at the same position. In 2024, "Pääs kii" (no. 7) and "Milt se tuntuu " (no. 48) follow, taken from the EK2 album, produced entirely solo.
