Alternative rock/pop punk band Ellegarden formed in Chiba, Japan in 1998. The band is composed of members Takashi Hosomi (vocals/guitar), Shinichi Ubukata (guitar), Yuichi Takada (bass), and Hirotaka Takahashi (drums). The quartet signed with the Dynamord label and issued their self-titled EP in 2001. They released their second EP My Own Destruction in 2002, followed later that year by their debut album Don’t Trust Anyone But Us. The album entered the Top 100 in the Japanese album charts. The quartet released their second album, Bring Your Board!!, in 2003. In 2004, their third full-length album, Pepperoni Quattro, was released and was their first album to land inside the Top 20 of the Japanese Albums chart. Riot On the Grill followed in 2005. Ellegarden released their fifth album, Eleven Fire Crackers, in 2006. The album was the first to be released in the U.S. and the band embarked on a U.S. tour. The Figureheads Compilation was released in 2007 and featured “The Autumn Song”. The following year, the band announced an indefinite hiatus that ended up lasting a decade. Shortly after the announcement was made, the band played farewell live shows and their Japanese label issued Ellegarden Best 1999-2008. Ten years later, in 2018, the band ended their hiatus and set out on tour. They announced a 2020 tour but had to postpone live dates because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
